The Smoky Mountains were gorgeous. Vacation was lovely and so very needed. I love my friends. And many thanks to Laura for getting us there and back in one piece. ♥

So, yes, back to the daily grind. And fighting through skip=200 on my f-list. Actually, I started at about skip=240 and have currently fought through to 160. Not too bad as progress goes.

Things I have learned thusfar:

1. Mandy Patinkin abruptly quit Criminal Minds? - Official Statement

2. I may have to forgive Jon Walker for the generally unattractive beard due to extreme hotness. )

Also? I keep opening fic & stuff in new tabs so I can get to it eventually without distracting too much from the reading of my f-list. My firefox window may explode from this practice. Oops.
♥ you, firefox
*shakes off excess drops of friendslist*

Hi. I'm back. Skip-200 is a scary place. Heart you guys.
Florida was very nice, very Florida-y. I did not get sunburn due to generous use of 60-proof sunblock.
My dad is doing well. And may even make it to my graduation, which would be quite shiny.

Now I'm going to go read fic. Ah fic, I missed thee.

Overslept & was late to work again today. Skipped a class I really ought not have yesterday. At least I didn't miss any meetings this week.
I am so glad next week is spring break.
At what point do I have to get this officially diagnosed as Senioritus?

(By the way, f-list, I'm going to Florida for spring break so I'll be out of touch for most of the week. More on this later. ^.^ )
What did I do to celebrate the new year? Flew back from Maryland. Yay for surviving!

My mom came to pick me & Jen up at the airport and she brought my sis & my nephew with, which was quite adorable because Luke spotted us and came running for us, yelling my name. This picturesque moment was shattered when his pants started slipping down; he got distracted pulling them up and started running around in circles, forgetting all about his beloved aunt. Oh well. It was really cute while it lasted. And I saved him crackers shaped like airplanes which he was fairly impressed by.

I was tired enough from traveling that celebrating the new year didn't seem that important. I barely managed to stay up until midnight, kissed Jen, and promptly went to bed. Not my most enthusiastic new year.

Spent most of today packing up and getting back to the dorm, which we're currently trying to make livable again. We seriously need to wash out the fridge. It's gross.
So it doesn't much feel like New Year's Day.

I might post a x-mas haul list in a few days once I unpack. I didn't get anything particularly spectacular, so you're not missing much. Helen came by today to give me prezzies. She let her boyfriend help her pick out gifts again. *headdesk* Anybody want some hardcore lesbian porn?

The next three weeks are going to be pretty boring, with any luck. I am very okay with that. *cuddles compy* I missed my computer muchly.

Also, I have a killer bruise on my knee because Jen's mom's house tried to kill me. I was just reminded of this because Jen bumped into it, and you know what? Bruises HURT!

I don't think I have anything else to say. I don't want to go to work tomorrow. At least part of this is because I don't know if I have to or not. I'm splitting hours with somebody and she hasn't e-mailed me yet to let me know if she's working tomorrow or not. I guess, if I don't hear from her tonight, I will go in and be annoyed if she is there, too. *is annoyed*

The most important thing I did in the last month is get addicted to Scrubs. If you have never seen Scrubs, then you are a sad and deprived person. If do not believe me that this show is awesome, simply go watch this lovely music video on youtube.

Okay, I'm done. I shall stop blathering and annoying my friends-list now.

Yes, I've been back for several days. It just took me this long to get back into a normal enough state of mind to like... exist.

Amsterdam (and Brussels and London) was great and I might get motivated enough to type up a detailed log in a few days, with supplementary pictures.

Summary: The Atlantic Ocean is very big and takes a damn long time to fly over. But this is less intolerable when you get to watch House on the plane. Amsterdam is very pretty and museum-ful and thus I spent a large portion of the three weeks wandering around taking in the sights (...and shopping) and going to lots of museums.
Brussels is also very pretty and has the novelty of being the place where I, for the first time in my life, got drunk on just beer.
London is gorgeous and wonderful. I saw Avenue Q (which was fuckin' awesome), spent a lot of time getting nearly run over, and slept in the airport the night before we left.

...I guess that's everything immediately relevant.

Anyway, having gotten back into the swing of daily life, I then proceeded to get completely trashed last night and thus am kinda.... blah, today, due to hangover-y-queasiness. Yay for life.

I am ridiculously happy to be back and able to compulsively refresh my f-list again. I missed you. *hugs f-list*

I'm leaving to go to Europe in... 6 and a half hours! And I still have to sleep!

But hey, at least I've packed already.

And I finally found the library book I've been missing for three months. It was IN THE LIBRARY! On the shelf, exactly where it belonged, still happily checked out to me, even though I apparently returned it two months ago. *kicks library* I'm allowed to kick it, I practically work there.

So yeah, leaving and stuff.

I got a new cell phone yesterday (a RAZR, actually, witness me selling out and stuff). A very damn expensive new phone, with the sole goal of having one capable of functioning all 'round the world. Which it will, provided I am willing to pay X.XX a minute. So, in case of emergencies, I am still reach-able, same number as always. And I think it's still only ten cents for me to receive text messages, but fifty cents for me to send them while I'm there, so you could text me and that wouldn't be too bad as long as you don't get carried away.

In other news, one of our hamsters died today, which is very sad. Hecate is very upset about her sister's death, but hopefully she will bounce back from her tiny little hamster-y depression. *sads*

So yeah. Amsterdam. Leaving the house in *checks time* six hours and fifteen minutes now. Eeeeeeeee!

I'll miss you guys! I will probably be able to get on the net at some point in the next three weeks, but it will be at internet cafes and such, and probably only for brief spans of time.

So I did my mom a favor yesterday and drove a '76 GMC Jimmy home from Bowling Green because she needed it to be here. Remind me not to do her any more favors.
This was the type of vehicle that would be described in the classifieds, briefly and somewhat generously, with a simple "Runs".
None of the gauges and whatnot on the dash functioned, with the sole exception of the gas gauge, which was good to know because it was on E when I picked it up. The speedometer and odometer just kind of spun randomly whenever they felt like it. The thing on the dash attached to the (steering column mounted) shifter that tells you what *gear* you're in didn't even work. No A/C. No rearview mirror. Incongruously functioning power windows, though.
And the engine kinda sounded as though it were going to just give up and die at any moment. Once I got it started, that is.

Anyway....
Las Vegas was great and I didn't break the bank (not my bank anyway, Dad's is another matter entirely).
I saw two different Cirque de Soliel (is that really how you spell that?) shows, "Ka" and "L.O.V.E." which were both excellent, though I preferred L.O.V.E. (It's with all Beatles music, plus we were there on opening night, which was pretty cool.) We also saw Penn & Teller, who are always great.

I'm leaving for the Netherlands in 5 days. Cue massive panic. I haven't begun packing. I have started cleaning, a bit, but not enough to make a difference yet.

Oh, and I think I'm gonna go see Pirates Sunday night at the drive-in, so yay for that.
