Yay, LJ is alive again. I am sadz when it is not. I actually was not particularly suffering from the lack, though, as I spent most of the evening hanging out at my sister's house next door. I watched some gameshow thingie called Singing Bee, and it is kind of the best thing ever.
At the moment, I am drinking coffee. Yay coffee! I haven't actually had any coffee in quite some time as I tend to stick to other caffeinated beverages. I forgot how much I do actually like coffee. ♥
Also? A guy who works in the office next to mine just came up to me to talk about Deathly Hallows, and he is the first non-fannish person I've talked to who thought the epilogue was dumb and did not fit. (And if the fact that there is an epilogue and some people don't like it is a spoiler to you? Get off my internet. Seriously.)
In other news, I wrote a short bandslash fic the other day (it was a comment fic... that took three comments to fit it all) and I'm going to post it here later.
And in other other news, my lil sis comes home from parts afar (okay, so not that very far) today. Due to us both wandering away from home so much lately, I don't actually remember when I last saw her, which is odd.

See, when I have been away for some time, I page back until I find the last thing I read and then work back through the pages/forward in time. I don't do this unless it's been more than a day since I've checked my friendslist. I have whole, like, procedures for such incidences which should probably be worrisome.
But anyhow, the point I was going to make is, I was scrolling up the page on my f-list and I saw the bottom of an entry but could not yet see who had made it and thought "Wow, that's really long, I think I'll just skip it," then scrolled up and realized that it was ME. Also, I just realized that the "detect music now" button in my Semagic to fill in the "Current Music" field actually works perfectly. It has honestly never occured to me to use it before. I've no idea why. I generally tend to forget that the field exists much less the button...

It's been awhile since I've had a random LJ overhaul. I felt it was time. So I am, sadly, no longer squirrel-ified, but I am, happily, fannish again.

I can't decide yet if I'm happy with the way the colors are, so that aspect might get completely futzed with all over again, but I'm definitely going with the black/white/grays/randomred scheme. I forgot how many icons I have that go well with that.
Also, the decision on which shows made the cut for the sidebar was based only partially on which ones I like the most. The other important delineating factor was which ones I could find logos for that fit with what I was looking for. And of course, once I was done, I thought of a billion more things I should have looked for. But it's done, and I'm happy with it, and I'm leaving it as is, for a while at least.

I was not unduly bothered by the change in browsing layout-ness. I wasn't all that fond of any of the previous styles, so I have the new one a try for a few days.
I decided this morning that it just wasn't what I wanted and calmly went in and changed it back to my normal style.
And then I changed it again.
And then I changed it again.
And you know what? This is really getting old. It didn't piss me off before, but it really, really is now.
Anybody found a way to solve this yet?

Yes, I've been back for several days. It just took me this long to get back into a normal enough state of mind to like... exist.
Amsterdam (and Brussels and London) was great and I might get motivated enough to type up a detailed log in a few days, with supplementary pictures.
Summary: The Atlantic Ocean is very big and takes a damn long time to fly over. But this is less intolerable when you get to watch House on the plane. Amsterdam is very pretty and museum-ful and thus I spent a large portion of the three weeks wandering around taking in the sights (...and shopping) and going to lots of museums.
Brussels is also very pretty and has the novelty of being the place where I, for the first time in my life, got drunk on just beer.
London is gorgeous and wonderful. I saw Avenue Q (which was fuckin' awesome), spent a lot of time getting nearly run over, and slept in the airport the night before we left.
...I guess that's everything immediately relevant.
Anyway, having gotten back into the swing of daily life, I then proceeded to get completely trashed last night and thus am kinda.... blah, today, due to hangover-y-queasiness. Yay for life.
I am ridiculously happy to be back and able to compulsively refresh my f-list again. I missed you. *hugs f-list*

D. I will probably change my layout tonight. Apparently four out of five people prefer the full-color normal version, so that's what I'm going with. I'm sure I'll post again when I'm finished. Now I just need to figure out what the hell to change the text links to that is squirrel-applicable.

Finally got to see Brokeback Mountain today. *sigh* ...so good... Had to go to some theatre on the other side of Nashville that I'd never been to before, but still closer than Louisville at least.
I was very happy with how well they adapted it from the short story, and all of the actors/actresses impressed me, even the ones I didn't expect to. And I only cried a little, teensy-tiny bit. Really.
Now, since I promised myself I wasn't going to change my layout from BBM until I got a chance to see the movie, I'm gearing up for an overhaul. I'll probably update again when I'm done, because I just like to do that, damnit.
In other news, I've been listening to far too much country music for the last couple of days. I blamesisabet for accidentally making me remember I like it.
Also, I am very tired. Went to bed last night at 1 AM, then woke up at 5 AM, then went back to bed at 8 AM and got up again at 10 AM. My body does not seem pleased with this type of schedule.
