So... concert... right.
Awesome? Does not even begin to cover it.
(But OMG, 300 miles is *far* and St. Louis is a scary place to drive in during freakin' rush hour! We nearly died, like, a lot on the way there & back.)
I already said what I thought of the opening bands in my last voicepost, but I will summarize in case you didn't feel like listening to it: Cobra Starship=creepy, but decent music; Paul Wall=WTF? get out of my rock concert; The Academy Is...=so *pretty*; +44=Blink 182 reincarnated yay!
As for FOB... I know they like to say that they don't think they do very well live but, umm, they're crazy.
Pete's spinning! Joe's spinning! Andy on display on a raised platform at the back of the stage! Patrick! Patrick's pretty, pretty singing! And "Golden" was just him & a piano and omg!
And glitter! And streamers! And fire! And exploding rock stars! (No, I'm serious. At the beginning of the show they *popped* out from behind the stage. There had to have been trampolines involved because they got serious airtime.)
And and and... "Please rise for the national anthem"!
And pete calling patrick "the shy-est rock star on the planet" and singing "now I only waste it dreaming of you" in his ear, and and and... awesome-ness!
And they did the bit where they sing a line from Panic's "I write sins not tragedies" before they go into Armsrace & it was so pretty! FOB singing Panic makes me ridiculous amounts of happy. :)
And... Pete! Pete's hair! Looked like he had rolled out of bed! After having sex in it for 24 hours! And Patrick's looked like he'd done the same & then tossed a hat on! !!! And Patrick's hair is getting long and it is adorable and unkempt!
Near the beginning, Pete was warning the parents that they would say some controversial things (except he said con-tro-ver-see-all *g*), starting with the most controversial... "Spiderman 3... sucked! That movie ruined my childhood!" *giggles madly* "I'm holding out hope for Hermione and Harry Potter." Woot! There is so fic waiting to be had in that.
And... that is all I can remember that I wanted to say right now. But random bits of squee-age may leak out onto my journal for days to come.
I will leave you with this... I feel old now. And I totally get why Pete refers to the band's fans as "the kids". Seriously.
