Spoiler Warning for "Forget Me Not": But, hell, it's my damn LJ.
Anyway, despite my ultimate love for all things Bug/Nigel... I actually liked this episode. A lot. Even if silly Nigel was dating a girl. Maybe this will burn him from ever wanting to try it again. I also feel the need to emphasize the fact that just because he has a girlfriend, that doesn't mean he can't be bi.
Did anyone else notice at the beginning when Bug and Jordan were interrogating him about his new significant other, Jordan kept saying things like "Who is she?" but Bug was very gender-neutral... almost pointedly so, I thought. Do you think he knows something we don't?
And the dancer he apparently used to be with, Velvet was it?, that could be male or female, not way to tell really.
So Soccer Mom is not the end of the world for the idea of Nigel with a guy. Which pleases me. Especially with all the yummy tension and anger between Nigel and Bug in parts of the episode, but yay for them making up at the end. In a way, it was sort of like Bug was asking him out on a date... he was making it socially acceptable because Jordan was invited too, but hell he asked him out *twice*!
And I very much liked the end of the episode. The part of me that's obsessed with romantic happy endings spent a split second hoping he would run off to New Zealand with them... and then my brain kicked in and went "Wait, but then he'd be *gone*!" so I came to my senses. Obviously Sarah and Beth (who I think were definitely together) never intended to invite him, and I think I agree with Nige's theory that Sarah picked him especially to help the ruse go over better. They planned this around him, that must mean they needed him there, right? Maybe Nigel only liked her because she threw herself at him so hard, he was blinded to reality. And in the end, he came to his senses and did the right thing. He didn't love Soccer Mom, he just got temporarily caught up in the little world she designed to entrap him.
And may I just say that the little girl being so fond of him was absolutely fucking *adorable*! It made me want to cuddle him more than usual. I need to go download this episode so I can watch it again.
...oh, one last thing, the whole Lily/Macy thing with the old amnesiac guy... it was awesome. Pure, tv gold. Lily was all "love cures all" and Macy was all hard and cynical... but eventually *he* was the one who found out who the guy was and helped to get them back together... proof that underneath that hard exterior... he's a big fluffy cuddly marshmallow. Yup, Macy's a marshmallow. I just want to eat him up. Yum. *done now*
(It occurs to me that the mental image of Bug asking "Did anyone lose a naked man?" could come in handy in other situations.... hmm....)
(Also, Nigel was *way* *hot* during like this entire episode... I mean, he's always cute, but today I didn't want to *blink*)
I'll update about my RL and why I slightly fell of the planet after I check the accumulations to my f-list since *Friday* afternoon, I just had to spit this out. I can't wait until next week for the season finale!!!
