Okay, so Jesus died, then came back, I follow it that far, but then what? After his resurrection did he just spend a little while convincing people he was alive and then flutter off the heaven or whatever? Or did he stick around for a while and hang out with the disciples?
He spent about 40 days on Earth appearing to a great many people, including a group of about 500 at one point. And on the last day he tok the disciples up a mountain, gave them the Great Commission (Go and make disciples of all nations) and ascended into heaven.
Then Peter and Mary Magdalene got into a huge power struggle about who had the truth, and then Paul had his vision and everything went absolutely bonkers.
Watching JCS made me wonder things like that. And also, what did actually happen to Judas?
There are 2 records of the death of Judas: The Tradition, based in Matthew 27:3-5 : Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, "I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood." And they said, "What is that to us? see thou to that." And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
However, the Greek used (which translates better to "choked himself with emotion") and the other passage in Acts suggest he died between the Resurrection and Pentecost (10 days after the Ascension) Acts 1:16-18 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
(the reward of iniquity is the money he stole from the apostles' treasury)
He fell either on a sword or a sharp stake. This ties in nicely with the theory that some have that Judas was both a redhead and a vampire.
