President-elect Obama!

I've never been so happy with my country. :)

...now if they could just call my damn state so I know if my vote mattered or not. Stupid Indiana.

Rumsfeld Is Stepping Down

(The last 2 or 3 entries in my f-list told me this, so I thought I should pass the news along.)

Jen ran away with her Faulkner and Hemingway class to Mississippi for three days... She woke me up at 5:30 AM this morning before she left to say goodbye.

If you still need cheering up from last weeks unfortunate events, go here.

Look! Something that's not political!

You Are Tequilla

When you drink, you're serious about getting drunk!
You'll take any shot that's offered up to you...
Even if it tastes like sock sweat!
And you're never afraid of eating the worm.

But these are... And quite interesting, I might add.

Interesting

(yes, it's still political; it may take me a few years to recover and until I do, I shall vent in varied and interesting ways)

Current top headlines on MSN:

Is there no good news anywhere?

“Wanted: Articulate, vigorous and optimistic Democrat with impeccable national security/ anti-terrorism credentials. Also must possess a demonstrated capacity to win votes in Southern and border states. Any resemblance to Franklin Roosevelt would be highly advantageous.”

This is where my eyes are.

Here's to hope. I think I'm going to try to catch a little shut-eye now. I'm so stressed, I'm not sure I *can* sleep.

Abe Lincoln was gay?

Also, if you haven't seen Farenheit 9/11 (which I haven't) it is apparently now available to watch on the 'net Here.
OMGWTF?!

And also...
"Mosh Pit" video by Eminem
Should open in Windows Media Player, you can also find it at launchcast if that doesn't work.
It's a very... powerful video. You should all watch it. It's very... just go watch it.
And Rita, if Rob hasn't seen it yet, he might like to see it too.
"Kerry on!" Subliminal messaging?

Hopefully now that I've taken the Japanese mid-term and some of the pressure in my life is off, I'll stop forgetting to update my LJ.
Of course, my computer seems to be dying in slow motion... it keeps telling me that this folder that I keep like everything of importance in just can't be opened. No reason, just "Access Denied" over and over.
So... I bought the Sims 2 on Friday, when Jen and I went to the mall. (I also spent $30 on a pair of knee-high black boots. They're pretty, though.)
The Sims 2 ate my weekend. Well, the No on the Amendment walk Saturday morning helped eat it, but mostly it was the sims.
I spent almost the entire evening yesterday looking through stuff and downloading it (mostly clothes), not even playing! My eyeballs are still scrolling from looking at so much stuff. I'm so going to kill my computer with this game. I downloaded about 350 MB of stuff, nearly 1,000 individual items. It's just plain craziness. I've already been playing for the, like, three hours since I woke up this morning. *sigh* I have no life.
Probably going to go to the children's theatre play at 3:00 PM today. Then at some point tonight I have to read a bunch of articles for Deviant Sociology b/c I have a test in there tomorrow. Though I could read some of them at work. I need to remember to hunt down my advisor on Tuesday so that I can register on time Wednesday. *blegh* Am slightly overwhelmed by life; must go play more Sims.
