Skip 220, you are not my friend.

Warped was pretty damn good on Thursday and I only got minorly roasted in the sun. Apparently I suck at putting sunscreen on myself without missing spots. It's alright, though, I wasn't using that collarbone for much anyway.

Rundown of my day at Warped )

Overall, A+++++ day!

A few shitty pics )

Today, because we were in Indiana, Jen and I went and looked at the apartment we want to rent when we move up there and it's 95% less shitty than I was expecting, so we put down a deposit and we're supposed to sign the lease and move in on the 19th. \o/ Place to live during Grad school!

I also saw the new Mummy movie at the theater today and it was less crappy than I expected but the new wife-actress makes me very ;_;

This concert/shenanigans experience pwns all others previous in many ways but not least of them is the fact that now I get a weekend to recover! I never get recovery time! \o/
X-Files movie = :D
(though I think I'm perhaps too sympathetic, or maybe just too panfandom, to enjoy it as much as I could have)

French Dip subs = :)

buying random pretty shirts = :)

yarn = :)

Bowling = :)

sucking at bowling = :(

being poor = :(

Not checking my f-list for 3 days = :(
(aww fuck it, I'll do it in the morning)

Warped next Thursday = :D

P.S. I finally got my last.fm to work with mediamonkey. \o/ If you want to add me over there, that would be cool. Link! I'm kaciagemini pretty much everywhere, really.

Someday I will make a post that is an actual update about my life, because there are a bunch of things currently going on in it. That day is not today, and tomorrow's not looking so great either. *shrugs* Oh well.
Dear Internets:
Today I watched The Spiderwick Chronicles, Tranformers, & Stardust.
Why did you not inform me that Stardust is hilarious? Very bad form, internets, I expect to be briefed on such important facts.

On a scale of not-at-all to oh-so-very, how creepy would it be to make my 4-year-old nephew watch Due South with me? Anything you can think of specifically that I'd want to shade his not-actually-all-that-tender eyes and ears from? Because nothing in particular is springing to my memory right now.

Also, someone please inform me that it would be inadvisable to attempt to go to 2 Warped Tour dates when I'm having a fuck of a time figuring out how to get to one? Though the plan almost works better for two. (And if I do make it to Chicago, will anyone from my f-list be there?)

I've been running pretty much non-stop for... 72 hours or so? I think I've have about six hours of sleep since Thursday and it wasn't even all at once.

On Thursday, my dad finally got me a car like he promised 5 years ago (granted, I didn't have a license at the time, so it made sense to wait for the first couple of years). It's a 2002 Nissan Altima and it's terribly shiny. Silver! And it has like power stuff and it all works and this is all just fascinating to me. After three years of driving a shitty Kia Rio that doesn't even have a trunk release latch, much less power locks or power windows, anything would be an improvement. This car is blowing my mind. I might post some pictures soon if I think of it/get motivated (so don't hold your breath).

Just so you know, car shopping with a 4-year-old and a sick 9-month-old in tow? Not the brightest idea. Do not try this at home.

Yeah, then I went to the CMA Music Fest thing that night to see Taylor Swift (and some other people, I guess). Rascal Flatts showed up as a surprise guest which was pretty cool. Jessica Simpson popped out of thin air pretty much to say, "Blah blah blah and I'm hard at work on a new album" but at least I only had to put up with her for a couple of minutes. Anyhow, everyone who played was awesome (well, except I hate Kellie Pickler kind of a lot) and I really wish I'd had the money/time to go for the whole 4 days of shows. It would have been pretty awesome.

Friday I got my car insured, went to see my lil sis in a performance, went out to dinner and bowling with my dad because he was in town and I hadn't seen him in, umm, a year or so. That's pretty much how we roll.

Got home pretty late and then I had to help my sis (the one the bebes belong to, incidentally) get stuff ready for the yard sale she had this morning. Then, when we finally got done with all that, I got to have a couple of hours of sleep before I had to get up terribly early in the morning to go help her run the yard sale.
I did manage to escape assisting for a couple hours and run by and check out some other yard sales in town and pick up some cool stuff.

I made it home some time after 4-ish, hot, tired, and slightly sunburned. I am going to crash so ridiculously hard and probably soon. *sigh* Life is busy!

...and for some reason, me and Jen and Zoe decided it would be a good idea to go out bowling tomorrow (we keep forgetting how much we like it) and probably to see Prince Caspian because I haven't yet (I was at a concert when it opened, damnit, I have a good excuse!). I obviously hate myself and never wish to be well-rested.

... Cobras on Wednesday! \o/

ETA: Oops. I just remembered we were supposed to maybe have, like, cake and ice cream to celebrate my birthday today since I ran away the day of. Oh well. We'll get to it. Or not. Whichever. Lol.

Mostly this post is to tell you that I am cold. My Jack Skellington blankie is making inroads to keeping me warm, but I should probably still go put on some socks or something.

Side note: I haven't actually watched Nightmare Before Christmas since... not long after it came out. When I was a tiny, tiny thing. I was wondering the other day why I hadn't watched it again. Then I realized that I don't own it. Which is kinda crazy because I own a lot of fucking DVDs. I was thinking, how do I not own it? Then I looked online, and apparently Disney hasn't released it from the vault since, like, 2000? That's some crazy shit. I really need to get my hands on a copy at some point. This is ridiculous. Damn you, Disney.

In other news, I am flat fucking broke (contents of my wallet - $0.11), but I'm done with my holiday shopping. Now I just need to get on making the stuff I'm supposed to make. Which is... more things than I want to think about right now. Ack. Not enough time in the world.

I also need to get on wrapping stuff. Because I am the designated wrapping lackey for the contents of two households which adds up to a lot of presents really.

Argh. I'm gonna get back to my f-list now.

So, I'm headed to BG on Sat. to hopefully finish up the last of my xmas shopping. And to descend upon Rita with xmas decorations (<3). And anything else I decide needs doing in town between now and then.

Also, we're heading to BG next Friday for Jen's b-day to catch Sweeney Todd and do stuff. Who all's up for the Sweeney Todd opening? I'm not sure just yet what time we'll be looking at attending but probably after 7.

I currently have a low-grade level of cranky and discontent which is probably equal parts due to 1) the number of things I need to get done before xmas & am making no progress on, 2) applying to grad schools because I hate red tape, & 3) the fact that I have no concerts to look forward to for the forseeable future.

Oh, hi. I just realized I haven't posted for five days. No reason in particular for that.
I guess I've just been wrapped up reading fic and del.icio.us-ing like mad.

My bandom tag is a nice place to be.
I went on a bit of a crazy bandslash reading glut when I first started so now I'm trying to hunt down everything I liked and actually save it so I can maybe find it if I want to re-read it. You know, unlike any other fandom I've ever been in. I suck at keeping track of fic.

In other news, I am seriously stoked for the midnight showing of the new HP movie tonight. I've never actually been to a midnight release for anything, ever, so double cool points. Plus, I'm wearing my shiny new robe that I just finished yesterday. (And by "I just finished yesterday" I mean to say watched as Jen ironed on my patch after Mom finished hemming it after Zoe finished ironing the hems. And after Laura did the bulk of the making. I cut my own hems! And did the neck thingie! I did have some small part in it! And I was totally going to do it all myself, but apparently I spent too long sitting around looking particularly useless and people just started doing stuff for me. That's kind of awesome, actually. Life should always work that way.)

But, yes! Robes! Coolness!

I am wearing a blue shirt and my blue and black converses (my toes are currently rebelling in confusion because I have not worn socks since at least April) to make up for the fact that, though I am a Ravenclaw, my robes are lined with grey instead of blue because blue fabric determinedly did not want to be found when we were searching for some. I almost wish I had a tie, but ties are expensive, yo.

Other things I am excited about:
Mini-vacation in Pigeon Forge this weekend.
Book release next Saturday/book release party next Friday night.
My "Our Lawyers Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued" ringtone. It is the first Fall Out Boy song I ever heard and is quite possibly still my favorite.

Also of note: I changed my moodtheme to one that is Panic & FOB. Woot! [livejournal.com profile] expastic is awesome.
I have not checked my friendslist in 3 days, but before I go digging through the skip100 madness, I feel the need to update about my weekend. Here are the highlights, for you enjoyment.

Friday (Rita's Birthday):
-Went to work.
-Class cancelled.
-Went to the bank.
-Lunch at Panera.
-Liquor store & Kroger's.
-Went to Daniel's for Rita's birthday shindig.
-Started drinking at 4PM (Mmmm, rum&coke=love).
-Was tipsy.
-Pouted at Rita for not being drunk enough to let me grope her.
-Groped Laura.
-Drank more (including but not limited to: watermelon martinis, cider, beer, apple flavored wine cooler, watermelon flavored wine cooler, & blackberry wine).
-Was drunk.
-Pouted at Rita more.
-Groped Laura A LOT.
-Drank tequila (I don't really know how many shots I took, but it probably fell in the category of "too many" & Daniel claims I drank half the bottle. I'm sure I had *some* assistance in that... I think.).
-Was very drunk.
-Wandered around topless for a good while as shirts are for losers.
-Passed the fuck out in the middle of Daniel's floor sometime after 1AM (I apologize to the people that had to step over me to get to the bathroom. And thanks for the blanket, Daniel!).

Saturday (Zoe's birthday):
-Woke up on Daniel's floor.
-Had breakfast.
-Realized breakfast was a bad idea when I spent the day before drinking for more than 8 hours.
-Returned to dorm.
-Took nap.
-Went home to see family.
-Went to the drive-in.
-Watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not quite as bad as forewarned.
-Watched Are We Done Yet?, regretted every dying brain cell despite existence of Dr. Cox.
-Went back home & ate some of Zoe's ice cream cake.
-Realized I am missing a chip from one of my front teeth and have no idea when, where, or how this happened.
-Played DDR with Zoe on her shiny new mat for a while, sucked muchly.
-Went to bed.

Sunday (My nephew, Hunter's, birthday):
-Woke up much later than intended.
-Entertained self by sucking at DDR some more.
-Played with nephewlet.
-Had some of Zoe's *other* ice cream cake, with added Hunter celebration-ness.
-Priced clothing for the yard sale my sis is having next weekend for far longer than I want to think about.
-Left for dorm at 9PM, eep.

The end. *dies*

In other news, this week is my last week of classes... and I have a bajillion things to do. I need to start working on the 10-page paper I have due this week and yet I have done nothing. I meant to make an outline tonight, but I accidentally hung out with Laura for an hour and a half instead. My bad.

*off to brave the scary f-list before bed*

It's midnight.
I should be studying for the two finals I have to take in the morning. One of which is going to supremely kick my ass.
What am I doing instead?
Watching Stripes.
However! This is not such an ignoble pursuit as it might be considered. I'm recovering my position in my mother's eyes.
She told me over Thanksgiving that the fact I hadn't seen it must mean she had failed as a parent. And I just can't do that to her, right?
So really, it's better that I not be studying.
Really.

Movies I've watched in the last several days, in no particular order:

Imagine Me & You - very, very shiny!
Barbarella - Jane Fonda, sans clothes, what else do I need?
Underword 2 - Eh.
Chicken Little - Liked it even more the second time around. Is that odd?
Chasing Amy - Yup, still my fave Jay&SilentBob movie. Now what did I ever do with that fic I scribbled down 5 or 6 years ago the first time I saw it...

Video Games played for hours at a time in the last two days:

Super Mario Brothers 3
Super Mario World
Chrono Trigger
LBreakout2

Also, there are chairs in my bathroom. Still.

So we were out today killing time before Japanese class (after I found my car... which is an entirely different story. I accidentally forgot that I left it parked in a tow-away zone for 4 days. But it was still there once I remembered where I left it! Which was a great relief.) Anyway, back to the story - so we were out and I decided to buy Dead Poet's Society (Special Edition, yay!) on DVD. Because I decided I simply could not go another minute without owning it.

I still haven't figured out how I managed to not see this movie until last summer. Obviously, I'd heard of it before then, but somehow the fates conspired that I not actually manage to see it. And if my girlfriend keeps insulting it, I shall have to smite her...

But I watched it tonight and decided I liked it just as much as the first time around, though it definitely adds an interesting touch now that I have seen House, and thus watching Robert Sean Leanard has entirely different connotations (though I much prefer him at his current age than as an awkward 20-year-old, in general).

On to the point! (Yes, I had one, damnit!) There needs to be House fic about Wilson's secret poetic side. Needs to be. And that is all I have to say about that.

In other news, I need to download tonight's episode of House so I can watch it. Immediately if not sooner.

Oh, and not only is DPS itself slashy beyond belief, in one of the interview things Ethan Hawke kept referring to RSL as Bobby and I nearly could not contain my squee at the adorableness.

And on that note: I desperately need to go take a shower and go to sleep. So, g'night all.

Brokeback Mountain was even better the second time around.

Now I need to go check my e-mail and then RP. Yay!

Blegh. Today was entirely too long. And I have approximately a metric buttload of reading to do for Wednesday. Some of it being articles I do not yet have copies of.

I accomplished many things today, which is good. I dropped off my, Jen's, and Laura's audit forms for Japanese and watched the woman process them, so that should be all good to go (I also cleared up the library fines hold which was, as I suspected, not supposed to be there).

I'm still working on getting all my shit together to apply to go to Amsterdam this summer on study abroad. I e-mailed to find out the new deadline, and also found out that I apparently do have a letter of recommendation ready and waiting for me to pick up. Nifty. Except for the part where I had already given up on that guy because he never responded to my email so I asked someone else and then had to un-ask her, which is a bit awkward.

In theory, I should have all my loose ends tied up about leaving the Student Government Association, tomorrow, after I talk to the Prez.

So, thusfar, my week is looking pretty good.

Also, I will be getting a paycheck Friday for the bit of work I did right before the semester began, so yay again.

And, this weekend, hopefully I will get to go see Brokeback Mountain again since it is finally showing here in Bowling Green. Yay!!!
Showtimes are 12:55 pm, 3:55 pm, 7:05 pm, & 9:55 pm.
You in, Rita? I'll buy my girlfriends dinner with my shiny paycheck. ^.^ ...after I put gas in the car, that is. Because it would be unfortunate if we ran out of gas, yes it would.

Layout is now officially changed.

Look at me, look at me!!!

Pretty, non? Well, I like it. For now. *pointedly does not start singing Avenue Q*

Also, I bought Must Love Dogs and watched it today and it makes me very happy. I love John Cusack so much. *sigh*

Anyway, off to bed now because I am sleepy. Which is odd enough in it's own right to warrant posting. o.O;; Me? Tired? At *midnight*? *shockgasphorror*

Finally got to see Brokeback Mountain today. *sigh* ...so good... Had to go to some theatre on the other side of Nashville that I'd never been to before, but still closer than Louisville at least.
I was very happy with how well they adapted it from the short story, and all of the actors/actresses impressed me, even the ones I didn't expect to. And I only cried a little, teensy-tiny bit. Really.

Now, since I promised myself I wasn't going to change my layout from BBM until I got a chance to see the movie, I'm gearing up for an overhaul. I'll probably update again when I'm done, because I just like to do that, damnit.

In other news, I've been listening to far too much country music for the last couple of days. I blame [livejournal.com profile] sisabet for accidentally making me remember I like it.

Also, I am very tired. Went to bed last night at 1 AM, then woke up at 5 AM, then went back to bed at 8 AM and got up again at 10 AM. My body does not seem pleased with this type of schedule.

HP & the Goblet of Fire was quite awesome. And really, *really* looooooooong! About two hours in, I randomly realized that we had been in there for*ever* and it still wasn't over. But it was great anyway.

I was rather upset by some of the things they took out, but I understand that it was a Damn Long Book and thus cuts just had to be made. The movie did justice to most of the things that were included, which pleased me. And I was very impressed with how well they played up some of the humor aspects (ie- the weasley twins and filch).

I was amazed at how much the kids had grown up, even though I had seen pictures and stuff but it was still rather shocking.

Oh! Ferret! Even better than anticipated!

No Percy, though. *iz sad*

And not nearly enough Snape exposure, though what *was* there was absolutely *golden*

Fifth movie, now, please?

Possibly more thoughts tomorrow if I think of anything else.

Sleepy time now.

Umm, if you were looking for my keys, stop doing so. I found them. In my jacket. My other jacket. The one that I apparently forgot I was wearing last Friday. And everyone else forgot too. *sigh* I am on The Crack.

La la la. Now I'm off to the drive-in with my girlfriends to see Chicken Little and Elizabethtown. Yay!

ETA: Drive-in was very nice. Rita and I enjoyed Chicken Little while Jen frantically tried to catch up on her Nanowrimo writing before her laptop died. Then we all heckled Elizabethtown. I liked it, but it had to be heckled. We nearly killed each other laughing. No, really. Death was imminent. That is all.

So my first time going to see a midnight showing of RHPS was definitely a resounding success.
My gf dressed as Janet and Rita's friend Mantha dressed as Frank-N-Furter (...with incredibly large breasts... slightly inaccurate *g*).
Had a great time. I wish I could go back tomorrow night and see it all over again. ;_;
Now me, my girlfriend, and Rita are going to bed. Night!

( Sep. 26th, 2005 10:31 pm)
The copy of Saved! that I ordered on Amazon finally got here today. It was shipped on the 19th. There's no earthly reason for it to have taken the mail more than 3 maybe 4 days to get it to BG. I think the other 3 or 4 days were all spent sitting behind the desk at my dorm waiting for them to feel like giving it to me. I think the only reason I actually have it now is because it fit in the mailbox. If they had needed to fill out a package slip I probably wouldn't have it yet. I think they are allergic to package slips. Grr. Stupid dorm.

So, in summary: Yay for Saved! Boo for other packages not being here because my dorm is run by complete fuckups.

Oh, and I have Boondock Saints pins on my purse now. W00t!
